My roots in Surrey

Hi, I'm Jacob, or Jake if you prefer, and I want to tell you a short story of who I am and why I'm here.

My journey began in Guildford, where I in my very early years attended Shalford Primary School while living with my younger brother and parents in a rented house on Pilgrim's Way. We since moved to Furnace Place on the outskirts of Haslemere, and I was enrolled at the Royal Grammar School (RGS) in Guildford - an experience that shaped my appreciation for excellence and local tradition. I hit my first par at Hindhead and the game has since been a life long passion of mine.

Experience beyond Surrey
My dad worked for Shell in London and his job eventually took us far beyond the Surrey area. From the vibrant energy of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, to the more professional hubs of Hamburg and Copenhagen, I have lived in and experienced different cultures across the globe. Today, I am settled in Denmark with my own family, fully integrated into Danish society and it’s renowned culture of efficiency and innovation.

Why I'm here
However, my early days in the South England countryside have never left me and together with my passion for working with small businesses to improve how they show up online, I’m here to make a mark for the locals in Surrey Hills.

What I learned working with businesses
Through my work helping local businesses make it in our ever changing digital landscape, I have grown to understand what works and what doesn’t. A "don’t do everything but do what works" mindset has led me to create my own blueprint for what local businesses should be doing to maximize their fortunes in the online space.

Local Initiative
Besides helping businesses both here in Denmark and across borders, I’ve recently started a local initiative, an initiative focused on helping independent businesses compete more effectively online. Read more about this below.

A local initiative I care deeply about

Alongside my work, I’ve started something local. It’s called Surrey Hills Local Heroes and it's built around one simple idea:

👉 Good local businesses shouldn’t have to shout the loudest to be chosen.
👉 They should be easy to find, easy to trust, and easy to choose.
👉 Local people should have easy access to trusted local businesses

👉 It’s about building a stronger local presence together.

Surrey Hills Local Heroes is a simple way to help independent businesses get seen, trusted, and chosen - while also giving the locals a place to find businesses they can rely on.

Businesses can join, get listed, and become part of something that helps local consumers find reliable, trusted local providers - without having to compete on ads alone.

It’s still early days, but the goal is simple:

👉 Make it easier for good local businesses and consumers to find each other and strengthen the local community as a whole

Small Team With Clear Focus

I run a small and dedicated team of like-minded colleagues. Together, we focus on helping local businesses build stronger foundations online - businesses that often find themselves squeezed by larger competitors with bigger marketing budgets, bigger teams, and lets face it, more buck to impact.

Jake’s Digital Blueprint is designed for business owners who wants to stand up to this and make their own impact. This is possible with an online presence that's set up in a strategic and connected way, where each part supports the next, instead of working in isolation.

Why We Work This Way

Most businesses are used to being sold websites, SEO, ads and tools individually, and most providers approach outreach in exactly the same way.
In reality, this rarely solves the underlying problem and you end up with individual tools that work in isolation and not together.

We try to approach things a bit differently. The tool itself is rarely the important part - what matters is whether it actually improves results and makes a measurable difference for the business. And for that tools need to connect and work together reinforcing each other. This may sound complicated and as insider talk, and that's why we are completely transparent about the blueprint we follow.

The revelation

After working with many local businesses over the years, one pattern became very clear. I’ve learned that local businesses don’t usually need more traffic. It's the go-to because nobody tells them the real fix. More often, they need their existing pipeline to work properly without leakage. When leaks are fixed, the improvement can match - or sometimes even exceed - the results of expensive ad campaigns, without relying on continuous ad spend.

Why I Created Jake’s Digital Blueprint

That understanding led to the creation of Jake’s Digital Blueprint - a simple and structured way to identify where leads are being lost and how to fix the gaps in the right order.

We've created an assessment quiz that highlights where change is needed and what needs to be done. Some businesses choose to implement these recommendations themselves. Others ask for help. Both approaches are perfectly fine. Our goal is simply to make sure you understand what’s actually costing you customers, so you can make informed decisions without pressure.

Taking on new clients
Truth be told, we can't work with everyone even if we wanted to. Our approach and size means that we can only take on one new client every week and we often have a list of interested business owners wanting to join. So we actually mean it when we say it's okay to do it yourself. We'd love to help you of course, but will also support you in your efforts of going your own way.

If you’re curious how your own pipeline is currently performing, you can take the free assessment on the home page here.
